Payouts & Prizes
-
Entry fee's are evenly split into two winning categories:
-

-
Total length of all fish caught (no limit on fish caught).
-
-
For every 10 anglers there will be another spot paid for total length.
-
10 anglers - 2 total length spots paid
-
20 anglers - 3 total length spots paid
-
30 anglers - 4 total length spots paid....etc, etc.
-
-
For every angler payout the registration money designated for payouts evenly divides by the number of payouts.
-
See rules section on tie breakers.
-
Trophies awarded for payout spots (only if 10+ anglers register)
Payouts take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks to process.
We try to make payouts as soon as possible but objections being filed, rule violations, and in-depth photo reviews can result in delays.
For individuals to whom BKFT pays out $600 or more during a calendar year, we will prepare an IRS Form 1099 and require information from the angler before the payment is made.
Feel free to email buckeyekayakfishingtrail@gmail.com regarding the status of your payout.

Measuring Musky
-
Unlike other BKFT events this event allows different measuring devices.
-
Ketch boards are the preferred, but not required, measuring device.
-
They have 16", 26", 32" and a folding 48" board.
-
The 48" board is ideal for this tournament
-
-
Homemade measuring devices are not permitted.
-
If a fish is longer than your measuring board a tape measure along side the board is required. The tape measure should lay flat and the start of it lay as close to the beginning of the board as possible.
-
Fish grips are allowed.
-
If the fish is not touching the bump board fence located at the 0" mark expect a deduction.
-
Signing up for this tournament anglers agree that measuring devices may be requested for inspection at any point before, during, or after the tournament.
-
If you have multiple pictures that help determine length please upload them to Tourney X individually. Mark the first picture with the length of the fish and the other pictures with 0"-1" in length.
-
At the end of the day if a picture(s) do not clearly define fish length the judges will make a determination. The determination is a length the judge knows to be true not a guess as to what they think might be true.
Musky pictures on this page are the best methodology to photograph your musky.
