As some anglers recall we sent out a survey in 2019 and anglers have spoken.
Out of 10 categories anglers ranked both 'Competing against the best' and 'Being competitive regardless of finish' as 2 of the top 3 categories. With that said, we at BKFT are putting in place the BIG BRACKET BRAWL.

What To Do Next
Contact your first opponent and determine the following:
1. Date(s) you are going to fish.
2. Hours eligible to fish.
3. Location(s) to fish.
4. Species to fish for.
5. Limit of fish (1 minimum to 22 maximum and all fish should be submitted to Tourney X)
6. Minimum Length of fish.
Most anglers are on Facebook, so reach out to them on messenger. If you are unable to contact them make a post in the Buckeye Nation Kayak Anglers group asking if someone can IM you their contact information. As a last resort email buckeyekayakfishingtrail@gmail.com for the persons info.
One angler should email buckeyekayakfishingtrail@gmail.com the 6 items listed above that both anglers agreed upon.
If anglers cannot agree on one (or all of the items listed above) the following items are the default and should be entered onto the email to buckeyekayakfishingtrail@gmail.com
1. Date: Second Sunday of each month.
2. Hours: 8AM-3PM
3. Location: If you are in the..
Columbus Region - Alum Creek Lake
Northern Region - Charles Mill Lake
Southeast Region - Cowan Lake
South Region - Hargus Creek Lake
4. Black Bass (Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted)
5. Limit: 3 Fish
6. Minimum Length: 12"
We highly encourage anglers to be specific on their email to us. Feel free to piggyback off of other BKFT events where the anglers who finishes highest wins the matchup. Also feel free to make the event multiple days, different species, etc. Our last wish is for every match-up to use the defaults....please communicate with each other and come up with the 6 criteria.
The goal is that both anglers determine criteria for their match-up and at the end of it also agree on who won. If the matchup has a disagreement BKFT will make a ruling that may include a DQ of BOTH ANGLERS, so don't put us in that position.
In these strange times get outside and enjoy the best social distancing you can….KAYAK FISHING. Stay safe and have fun!
